Jump'N for Joplin Shirts

What do you think of our "event T-shirt" ?!

This year is an extra special event because we have decided to donate the US Games gift certificates (to be used for physical education equipment) that Chadron Schools earn to Irving and Emerson Elementary Schools in Joplin, Missouri.  These two school buildings were destroyed in the devastating EF-5 tornado that hit Joplin on May 22, 2011.  There is a quote on the shirt by Quinton Anderson, a senior at Joplin High School:  "Always take that extra step."  On August 17, Quinton walked into the new Joplin High School (which is the old Shopko building - transformed - at the mall). This was a miracle because, after being hit by the tornado, he spent more than five weeks in the hospital. Quinton lost both of his parents and his two dogs. For three days, nobody knew if he was alive. Quinton’s story, and his spirit of resilience, inspired a community that is recovering from devastation.

The plan is to collect a $10 donation for each shirt.  ALL proceeds will be divided between the American Heart Association and the Joplin Schools.  The t-shirts must be ordered by October 11, in order to have them here for our event on October 26.  If you would like to order a shirt (or shirts!) please contact Mrs. Rischling ASAP by calling 432-8910 or email at linda.rischling@chadronschools.netHow amazing will our event picture be with all the participants wearing this t-shirt?!!

Thank you for supporting our kids in Jump Rope for Heart AND for helping teach our kids to take action and show we care -- not just feel sorry -- for those struck by tragedy.

We are cheering on the kids, teachers, and families of Irving and Emerson Elementary Schools in Joplin.
